Why so darn good? "Riads are a wonderful way to experience Moroccan life and culture. Many of these old homes have been lovingly restored. They are small and have the feel of a bed and breakfast. The Riad Diana has a more modern design than other riads, with cleaner and simpler decor, but it was very luxurious and upscale."
Location: "Riad Diana is located in the historical center of the Medina in Marrakech. This is the old part of town with a maze of tiny streets. The riad is close to many sights."
Rooms: "We had originally booked Talata, a triple, for our family of four, but decided that evening to upgrade to the Arba, which had two separate bedrooms. Both rooms were luxurious. Arba had a small fireplace that they lit for us."
Food: "We were served traditional mint tea upon our late evening arrival. We did not have their dinner, but breakfast was homemade and had many traditional Moroccan breads."
Vibe: "Quaint, an oasis, and intimate. We arrived late evening, so the medina was a little overwhelming - then when we entered the quiet and beauty of the riad, we felt immediately taken care of."
Keep in Mind: "The medina can be very confusing, so make sure you get good directions from the riad before leaving to explore for the day."
